“Tides of Color” from KC Collins

Posted by Robert Lange on

Join us in December for an exhibition of coastal inspirations titled “Tides of Color.”

Local artist KC Collins invites art lovers and coastal enthusiasts to explore her latest exhibition, “Tides of Color,” showcasing a vibrant collection of oil paintings inspired by the beauty of the South Carolina coastline. The opening reception will be held on December 5 5-8pm at Robert Lange Studios, where guests can meet the artist and experience her work firsthand.

“Tides of Color” features a series of stunning oil paintings that capture the essence of coastal life, from serene beach sunsets to dynamic ocean waves. In this exhibition, Collins aims to immerse viewers in the vibrant colors and textures of the sea, celebrating the natural beauty that surrounds her in Charleston.

“I want my paintings to evoke a sense of peace and connection to the coastal environment,” says Collins. “Each brushstroke is a reflection of my love for the ocean and the unique landscapes we’re surrounded by here in Charleston.”

In addition to her larger works, Collins will debut 40 small, porthole-inspired paintings, offering a fresh perspective on coastal imagery. “These small pieces are a window into my world,” Collins explains. “I hope they inspire viewers to see the ocean not just as a vast expanse, but as a series of intimate moments filled with color and life.”

The exhibition will run through December, with the opening reception happening during First Friday Holiday ArtWalk, a perfect opportunity to meet Collins and discuss her artistic process, inspirations, and the stories behind her work.
