Supporting Our Community, One Collaboration at a Time

Posted by Robert Lange on

At the heart of what we do, beyond the art on our walls, is a commitment to the community we’re lucky enough to call home. Over the years, we’ve found many ways to give back and support the creative fabric of Charleston—something we’re proud of, but even more grateful to be a part of.

Each spring, we’re honored to present our annual scholarship fund at the Young Contemporaries exhibition, helping to support the next generation of artists as they begin their journeys. Throughout the year, our residency program brings about twenty artists into Charleston, giving them the space and time to create, and sharing their vision with our city in the process.

We’ve also opened our doors for countless charitable events, offering the gallery as a space for organizations doing meaningful work to connect with the community. And just last night, we were thrilled to welcome one of our neighbors—the Queen Street Playhouse, home of the Footlight Players. Before they launched their season with a stunning production of Cabaret, we hosted theatergoers here at the gallery for drinks, bites, and conversation. It was the perfect prelude to an evening of performance.

These collaborations remind us that art doesn’t exist in isolation—it thrives when surrounded by music, theater, community, and shared experiences. We feel deeply fortunate to play even a small role in supporting and celebrating Charleston’s cultural life, and we look forward to many more evenings like this.
