Larisa Brechun (b. 1988) is an artist living and working in a small town north of San Antonio, Texas. She discovered her passion for art early in life and went on to study at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she began refining the visual language that defines her work today.
Over the past fourteen years, Larisa has developed a deeply personal approach to oil painting, focusing on figurative subjects that explore mood, atmosphere, and the quiet tension of light and texture. Her paintings often seem to exist in the space between stillness and emotion — moments suspended in thought.

Preferring a quiet life surrounded by her dogs and cats, Larisa creates from her home studio with little interest in the spotlight. “I don’t really enjoy being the center of attention or talking about myself much,” she admits. “My goal has never been to be popular or a ‘big’ artist. I just want to make paintings that make me happy — and it’s been wonderful to see that they resonate with others, too.”
While her journey has included personal challenges, Larisa’s work remains grounded in calm strength and quiet beauty rather than self-disclosure. Each canvas feels like a private reflection, offered generously to the viewer — a glimpse into a world where light, texture, and emotion do the talking.
Larisa is the newest addition to the esteemed roster of artists at Robert Lange Studios, where her evocative paintings find a fitting home among some of today’s most imaginative contemporary realist painters.
