Celebrating Murals with Garrison Gist at MELT Charleston

Posted by Robert Lange on

We are thrilled to be hosting mural artist Garrison Gist in our residency this week, just in time for MELT Charleston, the city’s very first annual mural festival. This exciting event takes place this weekend and promises to be a bold celebration of color, creativity, and community.

Charleston Artist

MELT Charleston is about more than paint on walls—it’s about honoring the long tradition of muralists who have used their craft to tell stories, celebrate heritage, and bring people together. With Charleston’s rich history and vibrant culture as the backdrop, the festival will highlight how public art continues to inspire and connect us.

Garrison Gist’s work is the perfect reflection of this spirit. Known for his powerful imagery and dynamic use of color, his murals capture energy, pride, and place. Having him here in residence is an honor, and we can’t wait for the community to see what he brings to this historic first for Charleston.

Check out the event this weekend celebrating murals, artists, and the cultural heartbeat of our city at MELT Charleston. And if you see this smiling face, say hello and make Garrison feel welcome.
