ROBERT LANGE STUDIOS
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, KC Collins began creating art at a very young age. During the early part of her academic career at Elon University, she decided to pursue her passion for art and explored many different media, eventually falling in love with oils. KC continued to study fine art, drawing influences from JMW Turner and Gerhard Richter. As a junior in college, she was accepted into the Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibit in Charleston, SC, and received an Honorable Mention Award. She has participated in the show every year since then. KC describes her artistic approach as pulling from extremes to find a place where the abstract and the real meet. She strives to, “give the viewer an impression of the entire atmosphere of a given scene, not just its separate elements.”
KC now resides in Charleston, SC, and continues to participate in several fine art festivals around the country throughout the year. Most recently, she was awarded the 2013 and 2010 Mayor’s Choice Award at Piccolo Spoleto, a third place at the 2010 Festival of the Masters in Orlando, Florida, and a first place at the 2011 Maitland Rotary Art Festival.
