May 4, 2012 Show - Big Group Show - Everything Changes - This show will feature over 35 local and national artists. Each artist will be creating at least two works of the same subject matter only presented in two very different ways. Join us for the opening on May 4 starting at 5PM.


April 6, 2012 Show - Kerry Brooks Solo -Through the month of April and opening on April 6 from 5-8 p.m., is a show of Prismacolored pencil works by artist Kerry Brooks. RLS presents this classically trained contemporary artist with her solo show featuring a series of fifteen Prismacolor pencil drawings where she has built narratives around cut-out pieces of paper that she styles with her models.


March 2, 2012 Show - KC Collins Solo Show - Born and raised in Cleveland, OH, KC Collins is a newcomer to Robert Lange Studios in the historic arts district of Downtown Charleston, the French Quarter. Collins started the series of landscape paintings for her solo show Radiate shortly after being accepted to the Robert Lange roster of artists at the beginning of 2011. The series will open on March 2 from 5-8PM with a reception that is open to the public. The artist draws inspiration from back roads and quiet forests, combining qualities of both to create a portrait of the natural world. These introspective moments usually consist of ambiguous locales allowing the viewer to draw from their own nostalgia.


February 3, 2012 Show - Robert Lange Solo Show - Our first show of the new year! Robert Lange's Solo show of round paintings titled The Observer will be opening from 5-8PM, which will showcase festive treats and drinks for the public to enjoy. On 8 inch circular paintings, Lange is journaling his artistic process and the moments in between. Each painting resembles a shiny silver ball, which upon closer look reveals all encompassing reflections of specific moments within the artist's life. This will be Lange’s 10th solo show in Charleston. On view through February 26, the exhibit can be seen daily from 11-5PM.

September 2011 Show - JB Boyd Solo - JB Boyd's show will be from 5 - 8PM on Friday and is open to the public. There will be wine, music and ten new works as well as the artist on hand to answer any questions. JB's tight realism makes his work extrememly unique in the genera of American landscape.


July 15, 2011 Show - Group Show & CFADA Palette to Palate Stroll - We will be holding a group show in conjunction with the CFADA Palette to Palate Stroll, an evening dedicated to fine art, cuisine and wine, where the best restaurants and galleries pair up for wonderful night. The theme for this group show will match the theme of the CFADA event and each artist will not only have a painting but also a palette on display.

On view through the end of June, the exhibit can be seen daily from 11-5PM. Flint was recently on the cover of SouthWest Magazing as an artist under the age of thirty to watch.


May 6, 2011 Show - Jessica Dunegan & Ali Cavaungh - The opening is from 5:00 – 8:00PM, which will showcase festive treats and drinks for the public to enjoy is titled Arcs and Angles. On view through the end of May, the exhibit can be seen daily from 11-5PM. Cavaungh's stark white backgrounds have bright figures bending and contorting often with bright socks on their hands. Dunegan paints using resin and acrylic to create images that feel like they are floating in a liquid.


April 1, 2011 Show - Megan Aline, Nathan Durfee & Adam Hall - In a show titled, "They Whispered Brightly," Megan Aline and Nathan Durfee make a series of individual and collaborative works while Adam Hall presents a series of new abstract landscapes. The opening is from 5:00 – 8:00PM, which will showcase festive treats and drinks. It is open for the public to enjoy. On view through April 22, the exhibit can be seen daily from 11-5PM.

June 4, 2010 Show - Robert Lange Solo Show - After a five week hike through the Himalayas Robert has returned to create a series of works based around the idea of embracing life. The show titled, "Go" will open from 5-8PM and is open to the public. Following the show will be a private concert by Decca Records singer Brendan James. January 8, 2010 Show - Kerry Brooks Solo Show - Russian trained painter, Kerry Brooks' show "Splendor" will be from 5 - 8PM on Friday and is open to the public. There will be wine, music and twenty new works as well as the artist on hand to answer any questions.


2009 SHOW SCHEDULE


December 4 Show - Different Strokes, The Galleries 5 Year Anniversary, & A Preview of Kerry Brooks Jan. Solo Show - The gallery opened on Dec. 4, 2004. To celebrate this, we are planning a wonderful show featuring new works from all of our artists. The show will be from 5:30 - 8:30 on Friday and is open to the public. Nathan Durfee & Robert Lange will also be creating a series of ten collaberative pieces for the event. Each one will be 16" x 20" oil on panel and Michael Moran will be building a new piece of furniture that will include Durfee and Lange's painting skills.


November 6 - 7 Show - CFADA Eleventh Fine Art Annual Weekend

Nov. 6 Show - Amy Lind Solo - Amy Lind will be creating an intimate body of work focused around Profiles. It will be from 5:30 - 8:30 on Friday and is open to the public. This show is part of CFADA's Fine Art Weekend. October 2 Show - Nathan Durfee Solo - Nathan Durfee presents at least twenty new narrative paintings.  The show depicts characters whimsically featured in an array of settings and situations.  Durfee's show will be from 5:30 - 8:30 on Friday and is open to the public. It will be held at our new 2 Queen Street location.


NEW GALLERY OPENING RECEPTION - That's right, we're moving!! The new gallery location will be 2 Queen Street, which is less than a block from our current location. The space is a massive 2700 sq. feet. Nathan Durfee's show is currently scheduled for the opening on October 2

There will be a sneak peak of the show during the July 17 Palette & Palate Stroll and you can look forward to a second installment in September. July 17 Show & CFADA Palette to Palate Stroll - We will be holding a show in conjunction with the CFADA Palette to Palate Stroll, an evening dedicated to fine art, cuisine and wine, where the best restaurants and galleries pair up for wonderful night. This year RLS Gallery is paired with FIG. Mike Lata from FIG will be on hand creating Ricotta cavatelli with rapini pesto and heirloom tomatoes. Tickets are required for the Friday Opening Reception from 5:30 - 8:30 PM.


July 17 Preview Show - Robert Lange Solo - Measure - To celebrate CFADA's Palette & Palate Stroll Robert Lange will be creating a body of work in which each piece brings an animal from nature, into the everyday, by playing with scale. The title of the show is "Measure: Creatures Great + Small." Lange's preview for this show will be from 5:30 - 8:30 on Friday and will require tickets.


June 11 Show - The Tidal Event - Charleston Place has teamed up with Robert Lange Studios for a one night show at the Tides to benefit the local Habitat for Humanity. The huge penthouse space at the Tides will be the location for the event. Tickets available through Charleston Place Grill and are $50. June 5 Show - Fluid - John Duckworth & Jessica Dunegan - Fluid movement and the passage of time are the two concepts bring Jessica Dungan and John Duckworth together. The exhibit will coincide with the French Quarter Art Walk on June 5, 2009 from 5-8pm with light refreshments.


May 1 Show - New Artists & New Works Show - RLS is proud to introduce two new artists to Charleston, Jessica Dunegan and Adam Hall. We will also have 5 new works by artist JB Boyd. The opening reception will be held from 6-8PM on May 1st in conjunction with the French Quarter Art Walk.


April 10 Show - Group Show - Yellow vs Blue - This group show will include 15 local and national artists. Each artist will be creating two pieces of equal size, one which is dominated by blue and one which is dominated by yellow. The opening reception will be held from 6-8PM the SECOND Friday of April but will be on view from April 1 until April 24.


March 6 Show - Amy Lind Solo - Gaze - At only twenty-five, Lind presents two new still lives to accompany thirteen figurative pieces for her second solo show at Robert Lange Studios. The opening reception will be held from 6-8PM on March 6th in conjunction with the French Quarter Art Walk and the Food & Wine Festival.

October 3 Show - Sean Clancy Solo Show - To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the French Quarter Gallery Association our gallery will be hosting Sean Clancy's solo show.

October 3 Group Show - Fresh - Nine local contemporary artists collaborate to exhibit new work at Robert Lange Studios through the month of October; in a showfeaturing over sixteen art works, entitled Fresh.   The exhibition’s central theme is youth within tradition and will hang from October 1-31, 2008 with a festive reception, featuring music, wine, and hors d’oeuvres, is open to the public on October 3, 5:00-8:00 PM, in conjunction with the French Quarter’s Anniversary Art Walk, in downtown Charleston, SC.


July 11 Show - Amy Lind Solo Show & CFADA Palette to Palate Stroll - By The Window - (Formerly Amy Hahn) This figurative show of bold colors and rich light sources displays Lind's masterful ability to capture the character of a person. By the Window is Lind's second solo show at Robert Lange Studios and the work will hang through most of July.

June 6 Show - JB Boyd Solo Show - 16 Miles - features the work of the contemporary realist landscape artist JB Boyd. The series chronicles the distance between Caper’s Island and John’s Island, encompassing the barrier islands to Lowcountry marshes, downtown factories to rural farmland. Opening Reception 5 - 8 PM


May 2 Show - John Duckworth Solo Show - New Work - John Duckworth's latest body of work will be unveiled just before Spoleto and can be viewed through the month of May. It will include new Urban and Landscape abstract photos. Reception 5 - 8:30PM.


April 4 Show - Robert Lange Solo Show - The Joy of Painting - Robert's humor and love of all things art is evident in his latest body of work, a series of paintings highlighting Robert's role as the creator. Opening Reception 5 - 8 PM in conjunction with the FQGA Art Walk.

November 14-27 Show - Cuba Libre - Local painter Patrick Pelletier and photographer Brianna Stello have collaborated to create a double featured show “Cuba Libre & the Mind Garden” in RLS Upstairs. On view from Nov. 14 thru Nov. 27, 2007 at RLS Upstairs space. Reception begins at 6 PM on Nov.16.


November 2 Show - Robert Lange Solo Show - The Light Was Gray - The ten trompe l’oeil paintings in the exhibition are all focused on the interplay of light: reflections, shadows, and the varying qualities of a range of light sources depicting black and white photography.
