December 5 Show - Julie Henson Solo Show - Details to come.

November 7 Show - Nathan Durfee Solo Show - This show is part of CFADA's Fine Art Weekend. The weekend events include exhibits on Friday, plein air demonstrations in Washington Park during the day on Saturday with the Charleston Art Auction to follow Saturday night. Durfee's show will be from 5:30 - 8:30 on Friday and is open to the public.

October 3 Show - Sean Clancy Solo Show - To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the French Quarter Gallery Association our gallery will be hosting Sean Clancy's solo show. More details to come.

July 11 Show - Amy Lind Solo Show & CFADA Palette to Palate Stroll - By The Window - (Formerly Amy Hahn) This figurative show of bold colors and rich light sources displays Lind's masterful ability to capture the character of a person. By the Window is Lind's second solo show at Robert Lange Studios and the work will hang through most of July.

Amy Lind's solo show is in conjunction with the CFADA Palette to Palate Stroll, an evening dedicated to fine art, cuisine and wine, where the best restaurants and galleries pair up for wonderful night. This year RLS Gallery is paired with FIG Restaurant. Tickets are required and reservations are recommended for the Friday Opening Reception from 5:30 - 8:30 PM. Call 843.805.8052 for tickets.

If you would like to see the show but not attend the event, we are hanging the show early. Visit the gallery from July 3 - 11 during normal business hours or call to make an appointment.

July 4 - The gallery is closed for the day.

American Art Collector - JB Boyd's show "16 Miles" will be featured in American Art Collector - June Issue. www.americanartcollector.com

June 6 Show - JB Boyd Solo Show - 16 Miles - features the work of the contemporary realist landscape artist JB Boyd. The series chronicles the distance between Caper’s Island and John’s Island, encompassing the barrier islands to Lowcountry marshes, downtown factories to rural farmland. Opening Reception 5 - 8 PM

May 22 - Boyd in Group Show - JB Boyd will have a painting in the Vanishing Landscpaes show, a juried art exhibition, at the City Gallery as part of their Spoleto week of events. You can see it from May 22 - Aug. 8th. Reception from 5-7PM on May 22.

May 23 - June 8 SPOLETO FESTIVAL - Spectacular productions mixed with amazing art. Once a year Charleston hosts the Spoleto Festival. RLS will be featuring John Duckworth's paintings and photographs along with JB Boyd's paintings during this years festival. www.spoletousa.org

May 10 - American Heart Association 11th Annual Event - Robert Lange has donated a painting to the annual American Heart Association Art & Wine Gala and Auction. For information about this event call 843.853.1597. Reception to be held at Charleston Place Hotel from 6 - 9PM.

May 2 Show - John Duckworth Solo Show - New Work - John Duckworth's latest body of work will be unveiled just before Spoleto and can be viewed through the month of May. It will include new Urban and Landscape abstract photos. Reception 5 - 8:30PM.

May 1-4 - Charleston Film Festival - RLS Upstairs will be hosting a couple of events during this years film festival. www.charlestoniff.com

May 1 - Book Cover - Robert Lange's painting of Father Basil Pennington, the author of over 75 books including "Place Apart," was chosen for the cover of a book about the authors life. April 19 - Kulture Klash - The following artists from RLS will be featured at Kulture Klash: JB Boyd, Robert Lange, Megan Aline, and Julie Henson. Event to be held at 10 Storehouse Row in the Navy Yard at Noisette starting at 7PM. April 9 - Artist Guild Talk - Robert Lange will be speaking about his experience as a young painter in Charleston to the Artist Guild and members from the community. Event to be held at the City Gallery from 7 - 8PM.

April 4 Show - Robert Lange Solo Show - The Joy of Painting - Robert's humor and love of all things art is evident in his latest body of work, a series of paintings highlighting Robert's role as the creator. Opening Reception 5 - 8 PM in conjunction with the FQGA Art Walk.

March 7 Show - Group Show - Ratio - Instead of Small or Big Works, the annual events that RLS normally hosts, this year each artist will be tackling the same 1 by 3 ratio canvas size in a show where one shape fits all. Opening Reception 5 - 8:30 PM.

March 5 - The 2007 Reader's Picks Awards from the City Paper RLS is honored to have such great support within the community.

Best Show in Charleston: The Other Side Oct. 5-18, 2007 Twenty-three of Charleston's best and most high-profile artists from six galleries all in one location — collaboration at its best." Thank you to Redux, Corrigan Gallery LLC, Modernisme, Eye Level Art, and Rebkah Jacob Modern for coming together. It was an amazing show.

Best Post-Modern Art Show: The Exhibition July 11–31, 2007 Robert Lange is an acute observer of the little things in life. He's partly known for taking everyday objects like a bottle of Red Stripe beer or an apple with its label on and giving them the attention to detail usually reserved for the "Mona Lisa" set. In last summer's The Exhibition, he brought his observational skills to bear on collectors and visitors to his East Bay gallery. He painted viewers avidly looking at paintings, all within one frame and slicked with a hyper-realist sheen. The results were excellent and gave some Charleston notables a chance to admire themselves admiring outstanding works of art.

Best Art Walk Discovery: In the Dark Oct. 3-31, 2007 Nick Smith, a City Paper critic, described "In Its Sleep" by New York artist Sean Clancy like this: "He harkens back to classical Greek art and his muscular, bare-armed form gives the painting a Homer-erotic edge." In other words, Clancy's In the Dark was a welcome surprise at last October's art walk, providing a bit of curiosity about literary history among the Holy City's army of visual artists. Clancy's exhibit made references to Homer's The Iliad, Spenser's Faerie Queen, Anton Chekhov, and Arthurian legend, as well as to Old Masters like Caravaggio. Last fall, there was talk of Clancy's return to Robert Lange. Now, City Paper has learned that he will be the gallery's featured artist during the 20th anniversary celebration of the French Quarter Gallery Association on Oct. 3.

March - Kevin Costner's movie "The New Daughter" - Twelve paintings from the gallery (including eight of Megan Aline's pieces and four of Robert Lange's) will appear in the movie being filmed through the month of March in the Charleston area, called "The New Daughter" staring Kevin Costner and Ivana Baquero. Theatrical release date to be determined.

February 23 Show - Kerry Brooks Solo Show - Allure - Russian trained artist Kerry Brooks, investigates the female form in a series of 15 new works (online preview available now). Paintings on view through February. Opening Reception on Feb. 23rd 5 - 8:30 PM.

November 14-27 Show - Cuba Libre - Local painter Patrick Pelletier and photographer Brianna Stello have collaborated to create a double featured show “Cuba Libre & the Mind Garden” in RLS Upstairs. On view from Nov. 14 thru Nov. 27, 2007 at RLS Upstairs space. Reception begins at 6 PM on Nov.16.

November 2 Show - Robert Lange Solo Show - The Light Was Gray - The ten trompe l’oeil paintings in the exhibition are all focused on the interplay of light: reflections, shadows, and the varying qualities of a range of light sources depicting black and white photography. On view from Nov. 2 thru Nov. 20, 2007 at RLS. Reception begins at 5:30 PM on Nov. 2.
