JOSHUA FLINT
Born: 1977, Merced, CA.
Joshua Flint grew up across the West Coast from the wet Pacific Northwest to the dry Southwest. From an early age he filled his days with playing outdoors and drawing. During these formative years he lived near Santa Fe, NM and in Jackson Hole, WY. These two strong art communities left an indelible impression about the art world beyond his early attempts at drawing and painting. As he grew older he realized he should pursue an art education not knowing what would be the most fitting creative path. He attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and studied Illustration, but naturally gravitated towards Fine Art for its more personal voice. After graduation, he looked to enter the entertainment industry, however, it was his paintings that started to bring him recognition. Joshua then moved back to the Pacific Northwest to pursue Fine Art, and made Portland, Oregon his home.
He has studied under preeminent artists across the country, which led him to China for intensive workshops. His exhibitions have been up and down the West Coast from Seattle, WA to Laguna Beach, CA., and most recently in Charleston, SC and Santa Fe, NM. His work has garnered national awards and has been featured in major publications. As an active member in his local creative community, he donates his time and art for various causes. Joshua is an accomplished teacher at the undergrad level and runs his own painting workshops.
He now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.

CHARLES WILLIAMS
Charles E. Williams II grew up in historic Georgetown, South Carolina. From an early age, Williams felt a strong connection to the area’s many waterways. Their inspirational beauty proved to be his first love, and also, the muse for his art.
Williams first began painting scenes of his native Low Country at the age of 13 in the Gifted and talented programs in Middle School and selling his work in local coffee shops. Immediately, his instincts with the canvas were evident. Within one year, his work showcased in the Georgetown County Rice Museum, The Litchfield Art Exchange, Godfreds Fine Art Gallery, and Greenwood’s Cultural Arts Council named Williams as their featured artist.
Today, Williams continues to combine his love for nature and painting as a landscape artist working in oils. He is a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design and has exhibited with different galleries in the southeast including: Pei Lang Gallery, Lagerquist Gallery, Michael Murphy Gallery and selected pieces in the Robert Lange Studios. He has been awarded amongst 24 fellows the Hudson River Fellowship in 2009 to study with elite artists, Jacob Collins, Edward Minoff, and Travis Schlaht and others founded by the Grand Central Academy in New York. Along with his fellowship, Williams was one of the many artists that showcased in the Institute of Classical Architecture and Classical America exhibition in New York. He paints as a full-time artist and works on commissioned paintings through out the year, including corporate and private collections.
Williams is passionate about bringing his intimate connection with nature to others.
He promotes interaction with the viewer to place them self in that moment by leaving unfinished edges and dramatic brush strokes. With his undeniable natural ability, His paintings continue to touch the lives of everyone they reach. Contemporary landscapes have a great talent in Williams—one that will always capture one striking moment after another.
Charles says, "I feel there is a parallel between humans and nature. Nature constantly speaks to me and sends a message that’s ever changing, and pure. I am always observing my surroundings, and the vast ray of human conditions we live. My observations of peoples conditions shows emotions that inspires me, as well as my own; bringing me face to face to what’s true. Whether it’s from the emotion of the jazz player’s tune played on the street, or my perfectionism that leaves me in a frustrated state, I translate these and many others emotions through landscapes.
It allows me to capture the true and honest moments, showing others a glimpse of what’s under beneath the surface. Our surroundings are always changing, and just like in nature the environment can affect the elements we see. From the muddy banks of wavy marshland - to salty waters that reflect pastel skies, these elements of nature allow me to uncover those feelings in life. Painting landscapes are how I channel human emotion on canvas, and how I express my moods of what’s present and real."
