Robert Lange Studios Presents:
A Night of Fashion and Art
CHARLESTON, South Carolina (May 13, 2007) — Designer Rachel Gordon
and painter Robert Lange team-up for a night of fashion-meets-art at
Robert Lange Studios Gallery in downtown Charleston, SC.
On May 19, 2007 Gordon will present her ready to wear Summer 2007 collection
with a runway show. There will be over 20 pieces in the show including
everything from bathing suites to Gordon’s signature plunging
neckline dresses. The backdrop for the show will be a series of paintings
by Lange.
“Fashion has always been mixed with art,” Lange says. “For
the last few years I’ve been asking Rachel if I can borrow her
dresses for model shoots for paintings. It seems only appropriate that
her collection launch should be in our gallery.
The show will be held in Robert Lange Studios upstairs space. Where
the runway, created out of oriental rugs will wrap through the gallery.
The models, including many local women that Lange has created paintings
of for the show, will strut to DJ Belk’s mixing.
“My dresses capture the quintessential lines of a women in the
same way that Robert’s paintings do,” Gordon said. “With
each brushstroke he carves out a beautiful image on canvas. I use fabric
and stitching to compliment the curves of a women’s body.”
Both artists will be in attendance starting at 7:00 PM. There will be
complimentary drinks and food for all to enjoy. Please call for more
information and to schedule fittings with the designer. 843.805.8052

Rachel Gordon premiered
her new line at the Robert Lange Studios. The turnout was incredible
and the designs very impressive. Do we have yet another Project Runway
candidate in our midst? Love that she is local and her line is so chic!
